Cartonus creates original digital designs for laser cutting. Each project takes time to develop, assemble, and test. These terms explain how you may use our files while helping us protect the work behind them.
By purchasing, downloading, or using a Cartonus design, you agree to the terms below.
Digital Products
Cartonus products are digital files for making physical items. No physical product is included unless the product listing expressly states otherwise.
Please read the product description before purchasing and check the included file formats, material thickness, and project requirements.
Your License
When you purchase a design from Cartonus or an authorized seller, you receive a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the files. You do not purchase ownership of the design or its copyright.
The license is granted to one individual or one business. A business may allow its employees to use the files for that business’s projects, provided the files remain under its control and are not used independently or shared outside the business.
Free files published by Cartonus are subject to these same terms unless a different license is expressly provided.
What You May Do
You may:
- Use the files to make physical items for yourself or as gifts.
- Make and sell physical items produced using the files.
- Adjust the files for your own production needs, such as material thickness, size, or fit.
- Add names, logos, engraving, or other decorative details to the physical items you make.
- Keep backup copies of your purchased files for your own use.
- Share photographs and videos of the physical items you have made.
There is no quantity limit on the physical items you may make and sell under this license.
What You May Not Do
You may not:
- Share, give away, sell, sublicense, or otherwise distribute the digital files.
- Upload the files to design libraries, marketplaces, forums, social media groups, or public or shared download folders.
- Include the files in bundles, collections, courses, or other digital products.
- Convert the files to another format and distribute them.
- Modify the files and then distribute or sell the modified versions.
- Extract parts of the design and distribute them as separate digital files.
- Share access to your account or download links to let others obtain the files.
- Claim authorship of the original Cartonus design.
These restrictions apply whether the files are distributed for free or for payment.
Purchasing a file does not give you permission to share it with friends, customers, other makers, or other businesses. Anyone who wants to use the design must obtain their own license.
Modified Designs
You may modify a Cartonus design for your own use and for the physical products you make and sell.
However, changing the dimensions, engraving, layout, file format, or individual parts does not give you permission to redistribute the underlying design. Files incorporating protected elements of a Cartonus design remain subject to this license.
You retain ownership of original artwork you add, but that does not transfer ownership of the Cartonus design to you.
Selling Physical Products
You are welcome to sell the physical items you make using a licensed Cartonus design, including personalized items.
Please use your own photographs and product descriptions when advertising them. Purchasing our files does not include permission to reuse Cartonus product photographs, promotional graphics, logos, or website text.
Do not present yourself as Cartonus or imply that your products are manufactured, endorsed, or supplied by us.
Giving Credit
Credit is appreciated but is not required when displaying or selling physical items.
If you would like to acknowledge the design, you can use:

Giving credit does not replace the need for a license and does not permit sharing the files.
Materials, Assembly & Safety
You are responsible for choosing suitable materials, checking the fit of the parts, and using your equipment safely.
Actual material thickness and laser settings can affect the result. We recommend testing the fit before cutting a complete project.
You are also responsible for the safety and suitability of the finished items, including any requirements that apply when selling them. Do not assume that a finished item is suitable for children, food contact, or another regulated use simply because you purchased the design.
Copyright & Unauthorized Distribution
Copyright in the original Cartonus designs remains with the respective rights holders. Rights not expressly granted by this license are reserved.
Unauthorized distribution of our files may result in removal requests to hosting platforms or marketplaces and, where appropriate, further legal action.
If you find our files being shared or sold without permission, please contact us through the Cartonus website. Include the page address and any relevant details. We appreciate your help in protecting independent design work.
Other Uses & Permissions
If you need to use a design in a way that is not covered by this license, please contact us before proceeding.
Any additional permission must be confirmed by Cartonus in writing.
Nothing in these terms limits any rights you may have under applicable law.
